This Cookie Policy explains how UmpireDuty uses cookies and similar technologies on umpireduty.com and portal.umpireduty.com. It complies with the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021 (India) and common US best practices.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website when you visit it. They are widely used to make websites work efficiently and to provide reporting information. Cookies can be "persistent" (remaining until deleted) or "session" cookies (deleted when you close your browser).

We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. We do not allow third-party advertisers to place cookies on our Platform.
How to control cookies

Acceptable Use Policy
This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") sets out what you may and may not do when using the UmpireDuty Platform. It applies to all users โ Members (players and clubs) and Umpires alike. This AUP is incorporated into and forms part of the Terms of Service.

Enforcement
We reserve the right to investigate suspected violations of this AUP. If we determine that a violation has occurred, we may take any of the following actions, depending on the severity:
- Issue a formal warning to the user.
- Temporarily suspend the user's account.
- Permanently terminate the user's account without notice.
- Remove content that violates this AUP.
- Report the violation to relevant law enforcement authorities.

Umpire Code of Conduct
Every umpire listed on the Platform agrees to uphold the standards set out in this Code of Conduct. These standards exist to protect the integrity of officiating, the trust of members who book through us, and the reputation of all umpires on the Platform. This Code is incorporated into the Terms of Service.
Professional Standards
Violations & Consequences
Conduct that will result in removal from the Platform
- Physical or verbal assault of any player, coach, club official, or other umpire.
- Accepting bribes or engaging in match-fixing or corruption of any kind.
- Repeated unexplained no-shows to confirmed bookings.
- Fraudulent misrepresentation of qualifications or identity.
- Harassment of members or other users through the Platform.
- Breach of the Acceptable Use Policy or Terms of Service.
Less serious violations (e.g. lateness, minor conduct issues) will be addressed through a warning system. Umpires will be given the opportunity to respond before any action is taken.
Reporting Misconduct
Members can rate and review umpires after each booking. For serious misconduct, members should report the incident directly by emailing hello@umpireduty.com with:
- The booking ID and date of the incident.
- A description of the alleged misconduct.
- Any supporting evidence (e.g. screenshots, messages).
We will acknowledge your report within 48 hours and investigate impartially. The outcome will be communicated to you within 14 business days.
