This Cookie Policy explains how UmpireDuty uses cookies and similar technologies on umpireduty.com and portal.umpireduty.com. It complies with the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021 (India) and common US best practices.

What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files placed on your device by a website when you visit it. They are widely used to make websites work efficiently and to provide reporting information. Cookies can be "persistent" (remaining until deleted) or "session" cookies (deleted when you close your browser).

We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. We do not allow third-party advertisers to place cookies on our Platform.

Acceptable Use Policy

Effective: March 25, 2026

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") sets out what you may and may not do when using the UmpireDuty Platform. It applies to all users — Members (players and clubs) and Umpires alike. This AUP is incorporated into and forms part of the Terms of Service.

Rules for all users

Be honest Provide accurate information in your profile and bookings. Do not impersonate another person, club, or organisation. Do not misrepresent your qualifications or affiliations.
Respect other users Treat all other users with respect. Do not send threatening, abusive, defamatory, or harassing messages through the Platform's chat feature or any other means connected to the Platform.
No spam or solicitation Do not send unsolicited commercial messages, promotional content, or bulk communications to other users. Do not use the Platform to recruit users to competing services.
Protect account security Do not share your account credentials with others. Do not attempt to access another user's account. Report suspected security breaches to us immediately.
No harmful content Do not post, upload, or transmit content that is illegal, obscene, hateful, or that infringes the intellectual property rights of any third party.
No automated access Do not use bots, scrapers, or automated tools to access or extract data from the Platform without our prior written consent.
No platform abuse Do not attempt to circumvent security measures, overload Platform infrastructure, or exploit bugs or vulnerabilities. Report any security vulnerabilities responsibly to hello@umpireduty.com.
Comply with the law Use the Platform only for lawful purposes. Comply with all applicable local, state/provincial, national, and international laws and regulations.

We reserve the right to investigate suspected violations of this AUP. If we determine that a violation has occurred, we may take any of the following actions, depending on the severity:

Umpire Code of Conduct

Effective: March 25, 2026

Every umpire listed on the Platform agrees to uphold the standards set out in this Code of Conduct. These standards exist to protect the integrity of officiating, the trust of members who book through us, and the reputation of all umpires on the Platform. This Code is incorporated into the Terms of Service.

Professional Standards

Integrity and impartiality Act with fairness and impartiality at all times. Do not allow personal relationships, financial interests, or any other bias to influence your decisions during a game.
Honest representation Your profile must accurately represent your qualifications, experience, certification level, and the sports you are qualified to officiate. Do not claim credentials you do not hold.
Punctuality and reliability Arrive at the venue on time and prepared. If you are unable to attend a confirmed booking, notify the member through the Platform as early as possible — and no later than 24 hours before the scheduled time where possible.
Appropriate conduct on the field Maintain composure and professionalism under pressure. Do not use abusive language, make threatening gestures, or act in a manner that brings the sport or the Platform into disrepute.
Confidentiality Do not disclose personal details of members, clubs, or other parties you obtain through the Platform to third parties without their consent, except where required by law.
Compliance with governing body rules Know and apply the official rules of the sport(s) you officiate. Keep your knowledge current with any rule changes issued by the relevant governing body.
Non-discrimination Do not discriminate against any player, club, or team on the basis of race, colour, religion, gender, sexual orientation, national origin, age, disability, or any other protected characteristic.
Conflict of interest Disclose any potential conflict of interest to both parties before accepting a booking — for example, a personal relationship with a player or club involved in the game. Decline the booking if a conflict cannot be adequately managed.

Violations & Consequences

Conduct that will result in removal from the Platform

  • Physical or verbal assault of any player, coach, club official, or other umpire.
  • Accepting bribes or engaging in match-fixing or corruption of any kind.
  • Repeated unexplained no-shows to confirmed bookings.
  • Fraudulent misrepresentation of qualifications or identity.
  • Harassment of members or other users through the Platform.
  • Breach of the Acceptable Use Policy or Terms of Service.

Less serious violations (e.g. lateness, minor conduct issues) will be addressed through a warning system. Umpires will be given the opportunity to respond before any action is taken.

Reporting Misconduct

Members can rate and review umpires after each booking. For serious misconduct, members should report the incident directly by emailing hello@umpireduty.com with:

We will acknowledge your report within 48 hours and investigate impartially. The outcome will be communicated to you within 14 business days.
